The Appleyard

Just want to say a huge thank you to all members of staff who made my sisters wedding day absolutely beautiful yesterday. Shout out to Mike, Claire and Sarah for making the entire day come together from beginning to end. We haven't been the most easiest to accommodate for, last minute changes and last minute stress but at every turn we have had support that went above and beyond. The service room was organised beautifully, the welcome drinks were prompt and handed around, all staff had welcoming smiles, and the venue room - Wow, it looked incredible. From arriving to an empty room to drop off to then returning and seeing it cleaned and dressed to perfection was excellent. You could really see the staff had gone all out to make sure it looked as good as it did. The food was excellent, three courses all served fresh and hot per table, generous portions given for each course. It really was lovely. The buffet was lush, again, so much food to offer and the cake was cut for guests and displayed on a platter alongside the buffet. Bar staff were incredible, smiley chatty and no one was left waiting to long. All in all, I cannot fault one part of the day. It was delivered beautifully and the end result couldn't have been achieved without the wonderful staff at the Appleyard! Personal thanks to Mike from me, for making sure I was happy with how things were running throughout. I appreciate all the help and support. I didn't actually manage to get any photos, but I think Sarah did - hopefully she is able to post a few. We shall all definitely be returning to try out the carvery in the near future Thank you all, you're all amazing To anyone thinking of booking here for any kind of function or attending just for food etc - give it a go. Lovely venue, polite waitress. Will definitely return. Clean comfortable setting, looks like it's been recently refurbished ? Very reasonable prices too ...

A lovely place. I simply don't understand why it is so quiet. The restaurant and bar are very comfortable and the service is much better than good. There is a membership fee which is a bargain if you visit more than two or three times a year because members receive a discount on food and drinks. There is also plenty of free parking.

I visited The Appleyard a few days ago with family and a friend and was very impressed with the whole experience. The staff at both locations were welcoming, polite and helpful. We had a delicious meal before going on to the Sports Bar for some lively entertainment from the Billy BE Band, which had people singing along to the songs they knew of yesteryear. One of our party was in a wheelchair and a staff member assisted, getting the wheelchair to the table and back out again when we left. We couldn't fault The Appleyard and will certainly return there soon.

Great food exceptional service and music incredible. What a place for a night out. Cheap but exceptional.

Really lovely staff - so friendly and welcoming. Well cooked homely dishes and a great carvery. Recently had to cancel a birthday meal due to illness and the staff were so understanding and concerned. We’ll continue to be regulars!

We had a party at the Appleyard for my grandsons birthday highly recommended. Food was outstanding , friendly staff, I could not fault it Atal
